About TRZ Battleship

The old paper and pencil naval game, run on a screen so nothing has to be rubbed out. You hide your ships on a grid, your opponent hides theirs, and from then on every turn is one guess into water you cannot see.

A hit tells you more than it looks like it does, because a ship covers several squares and the first hit narrows down where the rest of it lies. That is where the tension comes from: the board gives away information slowly, and so do you. It plays in portrait at 600 by 800, which suits a phone held upright.

How to play

  1. Place your fleet on your own grid.
  2. Pick a square on the enemy grid and fire.
  3. Follow up a hit on the squares next to it.
  4. Sink every enemy ship before yours are gone.

Controls

Tap or clickEverything. One input does the whole game.

Tips

  • Search in a spaced pattern rather than a line. It covers the board in fewer shots.
  • Split your fleet across the grid. Ships placed next to one another go down together.
