About 2048 X2 Merge Blocks
This is 2048 rebuilt as a falling block game. You choose the column, the number drops into it, and identical numbers touching each other merge into the next one up. The board is always filling from the top, so every drop is a bet on what you can clear before the space runs out.
The part worth learning is that you are not limited to two. Line up more than two matching numbers and they combine into a higher multiple in one go, which buys back far more room than a plain pair. It plays in portrait at 600 by 800.
How to play
- Pick the column you want the falling number to land in.
- Drop it so it touches an identical number.
- Merge matching numbers into higher ones.
- Keep the board clear enough to take the next drop.

Tips
- Set up three of a number rather than two. One drop then clears far more of the grid.
- Keep one column low on purpose. It is where you put a number that fits nothing else.
