About 2048
Every slide pushes the whole board one way, and any two matching numbers that meet on the way become one number twice the size. That is the entire rule. The difficulty comes from the tile that appears after each move, because the space you had a second ago is the space you no longer have.
So it is less about building the big number and more about not clogging the grid while you do it. A run that ends does so because the board locked, not because the arithmetic got hard. It plays in portrait at 600 by 800, which suits a phone.
How to play
- Slide the whole board in one direction.
- Bring two matching numbers together to merge them into one that is twice the size.
- Keep merging as new tiles fill the grid behind you.
- Reach the 2048 tile before the board locks up.

Tips
- Keep your largest number in one corner and never slide it out of there.
- Work along one edge. A board built in rows stays merge friendly far longer than a board built in the middle.
