An honest platformer with no filler. Harder than it looks, and fair the whole way through.

About Dotto Botto

Dotto Botto is a platformer that knows what it is. Spikes kill on contact, enemies patrol fixed routes, and every level is built around one jump you have to get right. Nothing about it is new, and everything about it is tuned.

The levels get longer rather than more complicated, and power ups are placed where a careful player will find them. It ends with a boss that is much larger than anything before it, which is exactly the shape a game like this should have.

How to play

  1. Reach the exit of each level without touching a spike or an enemy.
  2. Collect the power ups you pass. Some are hidden one screen off the route.
  3. Learn the boss pattern. It repeats, and it is the whole final level.

Tips

  • Hold the jump key for height and tap it for distance. The two are not the same jump.
  • Stop at the edge of a screen and look before you commit. Most deaths are into something you never saw.
